When can I get VoText?
VoText is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. This page will link to it on launch day.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Recording, editing and exporting are free, and so is on-device transcription for supported languages. New users also get 20 free credits for cloud transcription and read-aloud. You only pay when you want more credits.
How many languages does VoText support?
33, including English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Turkish, German and Japanese. You do not need to pick one: VoText detects the language, even when people switch mid-conversation.
Does VoText work offline?
Recording, playback, editing and exporting work without a connection, and so does reading aloud with your device’s own voice. Supported languages can also be transcribed on the device, offline and free. Cloud transcription, with speaker labels and automatic language detection, and the natural VoText voices need the internet.
Does VoText identify speakers?
Yes. Cloud transcription labels each speaker and timestamps every line, and you can rename speakers in the transcript. On-device transcription does not separate speakers.
What happens to my audio?
Recordings and transcripts stay on your iPhone or iPad. Audio leaves your device only when you ask for a cloud transcript, and only after you agree. It goes to trusted AI services that may not use it to train their models, and our servers delete it within 24 hours. See the services we use.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use VoText without signing up. Signing in with Apple or an email code keeps your credits when you change phones or reinstall.
What is a credit?
One credit is one minute of transcription. Reading aloud uses 5 credits a minute with standard voices and 20 with premium voices. If a job fails, nothing is charged.
Do credits expire?
Plan credits stay valid for 12 months on a monthly plan and 24 months on a yearly plan, so unused credits carry over. Credits that expire soonest are used first, and if you cancel, the ones you have stay until their dates. Top-up credits never expire.
Is there a yearly plan?
Yes. Plus and Pro can be paid yearly, which costs less than twelve monthly payments. A yearly plan adds the whole year’s credits at once, and they stay valid for 24 months.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel in your iPhone settings, at least 24 hours before the plan renews. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and your credits stay until they expire. Here is how.
What does VoText cost in my country?
